Are there elevators in all buildings?
Yes, there is an elevator in all the buildings, except Skansegata 9 in Tromsø.


Is there coffee / tea in the apartment?
No, we do not provide this yet. However, there is both a coffee maker and a kettle in the apartment.


Is it allowed to smoke in any of the apartments?
All our apartments are non-smoking, meaning smoking is prohibited inside the apartment or on the balcony. You will be charged a penalty fee if the rule has not been followed.


Is there a washing machine and dryer in the apartment?
Most of our apartments types are equipped with their own washing machine and a drying rack. There are also irons and ironing boards in the closets. Some of our locations have a laundry room with a washer and dryer. You can ask us what applies to your location and category.


Do I have to bring my own hair dryer?
There is a hair dryer in all our apartments.


Do I have to bring bed linen and towels?
Clean bed sheets will be provided before you check in. A large towel and a hand towel are also provided to all tenants.


Do you replenish consumables such as toilet paper etc.?
No, not beyond the starter pack that is in the apartment on arrival. You will, however, find a grocery store close by your apartment. Check the map for more information.


Is the reservation refundable in case of illness?
Our 14-day cancellation deadline applies regardless of the circumstances. This means that if for some reason you are prevented from using your reserved apartment, you must contact your insurance company to find out if they cover the cost of your reservation for you.


Is there an age requirement to check in?
Yes, all tenants must be older than 25 years old or be part of a family.


Do you have experience with insurance matters?
We have long and good experience with all insurance cases and have good cooperation with several insurance companies. If you need a temporary place to live due to water leakage, fire, refurbishment, or similar, contact us and we will arrange all the practicalities surrounding the tenancy directly with the insurance company.


What are your conditions for changing or canceling a reservation?
We have a 14-day cancellation and amendment policy.


What payment methods do you accept and when do I have to pay for my booking?
Payment is made via our secure payment link. We do not accept cash payments. We operate with pre-payments, meaning for shorter stays the entire booking must be paid 14 days prior to arrival. For longer stays, a monthly payment can be agreed. Payment by invoice (except for contract customers) is not used unless it is an agreement. We require 5000 kr as a security deposit on arrival on all reservations.


If I rent several apartments, is it possible to get these in the same building?
If you have booked several apartments, we will try to place these reservations as close together as possible. Unfortunately, we can never guarantee for these kinds of requests.


How do I book an apartment at VANDER?
You can either rent your apartment directly on our website, or contact us directly by mail [email protected]


Can I choose which apartment I want to live in?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to choose a specific apartment as you book an apartment category. Please let us know of any preferences when it comes to address, floor, etc. and we will do our best to meet your wishes.


When should I notify you if I want to extend my stay?
If you want to extend it is important that we get notified in good time before the original check-out date. If we have availability extending your stay is no problem. Please contact us at [email protected] as we need it in writing.


Do you take a deposit?
Yes, we reserve a 5000 kr deposit on arrival. Please get in touch with us for details.


Do you have special offers for businesses?
Yes. Since our beginning, we have worked well with several small and large companies. Contact us at [email protected] and we will tailor an agreement to suit your company.


Is it possible to request a handicap accessible apartment?
Yes, we have some apartments that are more suitable. Contact us at [email protected] and we will help you out.


Is there any place to store our luggage before checking in or after checking out?
Oslo: You can store your luggage with us in our office at Schweigaards gate 15 B. Bergen, Trondheim, and Tromsø: Unfortunately, we are not able to store your luggage. The cities do have train stations and ports with luggage storage.


What is the address of my apartment?
We will send you an SMS with the address of your apartment the day before arrival.


I will not be able to get the keys myself. Can a friend / colleague / partner check in for me?
If you do not have the opportunity to check-in in yourself, you must contact us in advance at [email protected]


Can I check-in after check-in hours?
Check-in is contactless and can be done from after 15:00 PM, even outside our opening hours.


Can I check-in before 15:00 PM?
Unfortunately, we can’t guarantee an early check-in, as it depends on when the apartment is ready. However, if the apartment is ready at an earlier time, you can of course check in earlier.


Can I move out after 11:00 AM?
We can never guarantee a late check-out as we need to prepare the apartment for the next guest. Contact the office to see if it's possible to postpone the check-out.


Do I need to bring my credit card with me on arrival?
Yes. For security reasons, all guests must be able to present the payment card and valid ID.


Do I need to clean the apartment before my check-out?
No. Cleaning of the apartment is included in the rental price. We do ask for guests to leave the apartment tidy, put on the dishwasher and take out the trash before leaving.


When do I have to move out?
No later than 11:00 AM on the day of departure.


When and where can I get the keys to my apartment?
The check-in time starts at 3 PM. There is a self-service check-in in Bergen and Tromsø. We will send you all necessary information by email. Please get in touch to inform us of your arrival time.


Will bed linen and towels be changed every day?
We change linen and towels once a week for tenants who stay longer than 10 days. This is a part of the weekly cleaning of your apartment.


Are parties or events allowed?
All parties or events in our apartments are prohibited. It should be quiet between 22:00 and 08:00. In case of a breach of the rules, the tenancy agreement will immediately be terminated. Already paid rent and deposit will not be refunded.


Where and how do I dispose of different types of waste?
There are garbage rooms in connection with all buildings. You will find the information inside your apartment.


If something doesn't work as it should in the apartment, who should I contact?

How often is the apartment cleaned and when do the cleaners come to my apartment?
Departure cleaning is always included in the rate. If you stay with us for more than 10 nights, you will receive a weekly cleaning of the apartment. Normally, the apartment will be cleaned on the same day of the week that you have arrived (there is no weekly cleaning on weekends). Weekly cleaning includes a change of towels and bed sheets.

Are you available in the weekend?
Yes, our office hours are between 10.00 and 18.00 during the weekends. From Monday to Friday our office hours are between 09.00 and 21.00. The buildings are unmanned so please use email and telephone to reach us.


Is there a grocery store near the apartment?
Yes, all our apartments are close to a grocery store.


Are there available parking spaces nearby?
Unfortunately, we do not have any parking spaces in Tromsø. However, there are parking facilities nearby.


Is there an electric car charger?
No. However, there are parking spaces with charging facilities nearby.


How do I get to my apartment?
The exact address will be given on the day before arrival.


What do I do in case of emergency after office hours?
We have a security company that assists our guests for emergencies outside our office hours. Please see the information in your apartment for details.


Can we rent an extra bed / cot?
We offer extra beds for 250 NOK per night, and baby cots in all areas for 300 NOK total. Where we have sofabeds it's set up for 200 NOK per person.


Do you offer breakfast?
No. We rent apartments with fully equipped kitchens adapted to self-catering. If you need something fast, there are several nice cafes nearby that offer sandwiches and other great breakfast dishes.


Do you allow pets in the apartments?
Unfortunately, we don’t allow pets in our apartments, as we have other guests that suffer from allergies.
