The historic Hotel Augustin in Bergen will be transformed into an apartment hotel. The property will change from 130 traditional hotel rooms to 100 serviced apartments.
Hotel Augustin in Bergen city centre will be redeveloped into an apartment hotel with around 100 units. The historic property was originally built in 1919 and has long been part of Bergen’s hospitality landscape.
Earlier this year, the hotel was sold by De Bergenske to the investment companies REQ and Vander. The new owners will take over the property at the end of September and begin the conversion of the building.
As part of the transition, approximately 15 employees from the hotel will move to Hotel Hordaheimen in Bergen.
The conversion reflects a broader shift in the hospitality sector, where apartment-style accommodation continues to grow as an alternative to traditional hotel stays.
