Position overview

Do you want to work with technology that is actually used—every single day—by both guests and employees?

At Vander, we build almost everything ourselves. From furniture and kitchen solutions in our buildings to our own app where guests can unlock the door, manage their stay, and get support. We are now looking for a flexible, forward leaning developer who wants to help create smart, seamless, modern experiences in the serviced apartment industry.

This is a practical developer role with high variety, real responsibility, and short decision paths. You will work closely with the CTO and be a central part of our internal tech investment.

We are in strong growth and have doubled our portfolio over the last two years. Several new projects are in development, and we are planning multiple openings over the next year. Technology is a key driver for continued scaling.

What you will work with

We develop and operate our own digital solutions to create better flow and higher quality across the entire customer journey.

At Vander, you will work on:

• Further development of our website and booking solution (PHP / Laravel)
• Development and improvement of our mobile app (Flutter)
• Building internal APIs, integrations and automations (PHP / Laravel)
• Integrations with lock systems, check-in kiosks, sensors and Hotel-TV
• AI and automation solutions for guest follow-up and internal processes
• Optimising performance, stability, scalability and user experience
• Operating and evolving cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud)
• Structure and support for internal IT solutions (Microsoft Intune)

What does AI mean in practice?

For us, AI is about concrete improvements—not buzzwords. Examples:

• Automated support and guest follow-up
• Predictive problem solving based on history and patterns
• Internal tools that improve customer service and operations
• Automation of manual routines across the organisation

The role

This is a classic “generalist” role for someone who thrives on variety and ownership—and enjoys seeing and influencing the bigger picture.

The scope is broad, but we do not expect one person to cover everything. We adapt responsibilities based on competence, experience and interest. That means you can go deep in one area or contribute across several—backend, app development, integrations, AI, infrastructure or internal IT projects.

Here, it is not about fitting into a rigid job description—it is about building the role around the right person.

Qualifications

• Experience with Laravel/PHP and/or Flutter
• Enjoys varied tasks and takes ownership
• Practical mindset and solution oriented
• Likes working close to both technology and business
• Curious about AI and automation
• Takes initiative and makes things happen
• Google Cloud and/or Microsoft Intune experience is a plus, not a requirement
• Open to both junior and experienced candidates—motivation and willingness to learn matter most

About Vander

Vander is a technology-driven serviced apartment concept in strong growth. Fifteen years ago we started with three apartments. Today we operate more than 1,400 apartments across Norway and Sweden, and we have doubled our portfolio over the last two years. Our ambition is to become the best serviced apartment concept in the market, with plans to double again over the coming years.

We build and operate large parts of the technology ourselves—from booking solutions and the guest app to integrations with physical buildings and automation of internal processes. The current tech team consists of five ambitious people with experience across development, UX, design and marketing, and everyone plays a central role in our continued scaling.
